Each September, Xcel Energy employees and community members come together to honor the spirit of service and remembrance with the company’s Day of Service. Beginning in 2010, this annual volunteer tradition was started by a group of Xcel Energy Colorado employees to honor the victims, survivors and first responders of the 9/11 attacks by supporting important causes across the company’s service areas.
This year marked the 15th annual Day of Service for Xcel Energy, with nearly 3,000 volunteers from across the company and the communities it serves coming together to support nonprofit organizations. Together, volunteers dedicated more than 8,800 hours of service across 112 projects, resulting in an economic impact of over $309,000.
