Each September, Xcel Energy’s Day of Service brings together thousands of employees, retirees and community members to participate in meaningful volunteer events across our service territory. Originally created to honor the people and communities impacted by 9/11, this recognition has grown into a lasting celebration of service — and a reminder of the difference communities can make when they stand together.

This year marked our 16th annual Day of Service, uniting more than 2,400 volunteers to support 100 nonprofit organizations across our eight states. Together, participants dedicated over 7,400 hours of service across 109 projects, resulting in an economic impact of $268,000.
