RED Truck: Driving personal interactions for energy solutions

With more automation in our lives, sometimes talking to a real human can make all the difference. That’s where our Resources. Education. Delivered., or RED Truck program comes in.

Xcel Energy’s RED Truck program is just one way we show our commitment to customers — by meeting them where they are and helping with energy questions in real time. Our personal account specialists can provide on-the-spot help with account questions, enroll customers in energy saving programs, walk through bills line by line, and provide energy assistance for those who need it most.

Expanding the RED Truck’s reach

Launched in 2023 in Denver, the RED Truck program has continued to expand its presence across Colorado. Since 2023, our RED Trucks have been to 400+ events across the Centennial State, helping hundreds of customers with their energy needs.

This year marks another milestone for the program, as it makes its debut in the Upper Midwest. Following a premiere at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair in July, customers can now find the RED Truck at community events in northwestern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

“No matter if it’s the hottest day of the year, or the coldest day of the year, we can help,” said Sadie Patko, personal account specialist.

Beyond the Truck

The RED Truck program isn’t just about the truck. It’s about connecting where it matters most. That’s why in communities where we don’t yet have a vehicle, we still deliver resources and education to our customers at community events, and through our call centers.

In states like Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and New Mexico, customers are still able to get the help and service they need when they see Xcel Energy’s personal account specialists at events in their area.
